Calendar Girl Blog: Prevention vs. Cure

The statement up for debate at the breast cancer conference was provocative. 'Cure is better than prevention.'

We heard that prevention is expensive. It's not practical or cost effective. Everyone needs prevention. Only the ill need the cure.

Then we were told that breast cancer is not one disease.

Of course those in favour of prevention claimed the cure is too expensive and prevention is the cheapest way to go.

Both sides implied that pills would be our salvation no matter which camp we were in.
