Calendar Girl Blog: 2008 Cover

Image hosted by Photobucket.com This is the cover Melanie Gillis shot for the first Breast of Canada calendar back in 2002. She dug the maple leaf out of a snow bank, covered it in Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion and nursed it back to some semblance of leafness.

Today, Melanie shot the 2008 cover. We've learned about leaves over the years. February...not so good for leaves. October...much better.

No lotion required.

Calendar Girl has not seen the results of the shoot. Our soon-to-be mom cover model was a bit of an experiment.

Did we get her belly in too?

Dear Prince,

I counted 12 exclaimation marks in your comment!

That's evidence of extreme thrill and high voltage beaming....so do go forth and multiply in your shiny state.

(pssstt.... and I'm delighted to be able to include you deeper into the experience.)

SR, mistress of the cryptic. Since we are in the business of promoting both body awareness and acceptance as well as the humble breast, I hope the expectant belly was included, symbol of hope and continuity. Such things were commonplace in ancient art - we are taking a long slow road to get back there. I guess we shall have to wait for 2008.

Just the type of model suited for the magazine. I am certain that she will be a national icon after this. I can imagine her in of those big time magazines.
