Calendar Girl Blog: Six
Now that BoC 2007 is full steam ahead, my physical community seems to be full of comments. Apparently, folks were rooting for the continuation but didn't want to add pressure to my already loaded shoulders. Since I'm talking about calendar production again, the gang is flocking about, offering up their thoughts.
Many of my greatest advocates are moms. Last night as I sat in the kitchen at one house, an uncountable squirming pile of kids running about, the moms and I compared stories about the nature of six year olds. Although I’m childfree in the real sense, these gals see the similarities of my experience of birthing this calendar with the grimy, laughing piles of bodies that rumbled at our feet.
I'm told that six is a dream age. Potty trained, able to dress, eat independently, speak clearly, and follow instructions plus...sleep through the night the six year old is an easy age to manage.
I thought of the calendar.
* Potty trained: check. I no longer deal with crap about Breast of Canada. After one woman told me it helped save her life, that case got closed.
* Dress: check. Breast of Canada has a self-perpetuating look.
* Eat: check. Thanks to the help of four start-up investors.
* Speak clearly: check. Message does find its way.
* Follows instruction: check. Breast of Canada has always done what it's suppose to. Inspire conversation.
* Sleep through the night: check. Quiet as a mouse.
Calendar Girl remembers being six. T'was a carefree time. She hopes that her little paper six year old will have as much fun as she did.
