Calendar Girl Blog: Broke My Record

Historically, the Eden Mills Writers Festival garners me about 20 calendar sales over a 6 hour period. Not exactly the block buster opportunity that you might think but one that I've repeated for 5 years.

Yesterday, with close to 2,000 people in attendance I broke my record with a whopping 26 sales.

Please do not think I'm being sarcastic. When it comes to being in public anywhere with the calendar, I love selling at the writers festival. The patrons are friendly, the price is right and I'm 10 minutes from home. I've traveled a couple hours to Toronto, spent $1,000.00 on a table, had 20,000 people pass me by with nary a smile and sold less. Drained I'd drag myself home, swearing never to do such an act again.

Calendar Girl much prefers selling calendars on-line. Being the artist in the highly competitive business of selling calendars, she finds it challenging to separate her sensitive creative personality from the harder nosed business face required for 'in public' sales.
