Calendar Girl Blog: Fundraising

My favorite bakery With The Grain is having a breast cancer support fundraiser next week. One of the staff was recently diagnosed.

Sometimes thoughts cross my mind and linger long enough for some form of action to take place. Such was the case yesterday. Driving in the vicinity of the bakery, with a half box of 2006 calendars sitting in the back the fleeting thought of the fundraiser sauntered into my consciousness.

Without missing a beat, I booted it for the bakery. When I presented the gal at the counter with 10 complimentary copies for use as a fundraising tool she beamed and thanked me profusely.

Even though Breast of Canada is a fundraiser in it's own right, my philosophy has always been to share whenever possible. Especially at this time of year when my calendar sales are non-existent and I still have stock.

Calendar Girl is also keen to support any breast cancer services that exist in her own community. She's thinking global, and acting local.
