Calendar Girl Blog: Picnic Month
Currently I have four Breast of Canada calendars on the go in my home. As of today, all are open to June.
A couple of things need to be pointed out.
First off, today is the first day of summer. Perhaps this is more significant to the light deprived northern hemisphere folks than the heat melted of the south.
Second, with the power vested in me as the publisher of this pulp and paper mash, I have claimed June to be Picnic Month. Picnics need not be elaborate affairs. Simply taking food outdoors qualifies as a picnic in my books. And what better way to ring in the summer solstice than by having a meal with Mother Nature.
If you look beneath the surface of Calendar Girl you'll find a hint of 'the romantic' sitting on a blanket with ants crawling in her egg salad sandwich. The bonnet is optional.
